I appreciate so very much this thoughtful piece. The sexualization of children in America (indeed worldwide) has gone on so very long, and you are very astutely pointing out how rugswept it truly is, in so many ways.

It is very difficult even to find clothing for children ages 8–14 that is not inappropriate. I have a long legged young daughter, and to attempt to find shorts for her that aren’t Daisy Dukes, or have something suggestive or just idiotic inscribed across the rear end is awfully difficult.

Once kids are out of toddler sizes, it’s a horrific struggle.
